The Bucas Sweet-Itch Full Neck Fly Rug offers 99% UV protection, making it ideal for the summer months. It is made from a specially developed fabric that blocks entry from even the smallest of insects to offer relief to horses that suffer from summer eczema. Particular attention has been paid to the mane and tail areas ensuring that they are protected to prevent the itch–scratch cycle that is synonymous with Sweet Itch.

The design is a full body cover, with a neck that reaches to the ears covering the whole mane area. An elasticated, detachable belly flap covers from the elbow to the sheath, offering protection to the horse’s whole body.

Further features of this fantastic Sweet-Itch rug include a front T-bar fastening with Snap-lock closure, along with shoulder darts and leg straps. This Bucas Rug also has a fillet string and generous tail flap, plus an elasticated browband to keep the neck in place.

Why Zebra Print?
Research has discovered that flies hate the Zebra stripes as they find it confusing and so steer clear of them, compared to plain white rugs.

    Fitting Guide

    1. To find out your horse's rug size measure from the centre of the chest to the rear of the hind leg.
    2. Once you have the measurement refer to the rug sizing guide above (for guide purposes only)
    3. When you receive the rug please ensure you try the rug on over a clean sheet. This keeps the rug clean and hair free allowing for its return if the size is incorrect.
    4. Check that the rug fits correctly - Correctly fitted horse rugs should not be too tight across the shoulder & should reach the base of the horses tail (excluding tail flap)
    5. The rug must fit correctly before leaving the horse unattended. A rug that is too tight may rub and pull across the shoulder. Too big and it may slip and be trodden on.
    6. Please Note: Except in the case of faulty goods we are unable to except returned rugs unless they are clean, hair-free, include all tags and are suitable for re-sale.

    I love the design of the Bucas rugs. The Stay-dry material, which wicks away moisture, is fab as it means the horses dry quickly, keeping them warm in winter but cool in summer. They also fit the horses really well, never slipping, with an overlap at the front to protect the chest from being rubbed. The detachable surcingles make the rugs easy to use and wash.
