Hi Gill, these Mark Todd boots are available in either a standard or wide calf fit, they do not produce a narrow. If you scroll down the page and click 'Sizing Information,' there are some measurements that you may find helpful. A UK5 is equivalent to an EU38, and the standard width for this size has a calf that measures approximately 36cm. Hope this helps.

What lining do these boots have? Are these warm in winter?

Hi Lisa, the boots have a textile lining. Due to the nature of the boots, they will be fairly warm in winter, but they are not specifically designed to be insulated.

Will the leather soften with wear? They are pressing on the top of my feet.
