The LeMieux Half Pads are high quality Half Pads that are 100% natural Australian Merino lambskin - the wool is much denser & softer than the older sheep wool used in many rival numnahs. The new clear spine is swept up at the wither relieving pressure on the spine and allowing air flow. Half Pads are best sellers because they can be used with any cut of saddle. They can be used on top of a saddle cloth or numnah or straight onto the horses back.

Old horsemen used to say "There's nothing better for a horses back than natural wool" and LeMieux have listened. The LeMieux Half Pad helps promote blood circulation - is fully breathable, maintaining optimum temperature in summer and winter - regulates humidity controlling the breeding of bacteria and viruses and prevents bruising, scarring, chaffing and pressure sores.

If washed carefully on a wool cycle (max 30 degrees), or by hand, with preferably WoolSkin or non-biological powder or liquid these lambskin pads will give long service.
We recommend that some  HUMAN HAIR CONDITIONER (ideally for dry hair) is  rubbed over the underside of the lambskin prior to placing in the machine. Always air dry or tumble on a cool setting. NEVER dry or place directly on a heat source.
Sizing Information

The "in" measurements next to the size refers to the size of the saddle that you are fitting it to. However, this is a rough guide and we have found that we are able to fit the Large size to some smaller saddles.

  • What size would fit my 14in saddle best? Should I purchase the X-Small or Small?

    Hi Rebecca, our supplier recommends the X-Small Half Pad for saddles up to 15/15.5in, so this is likely to be the best fit for a 14in saddle. I hope this helps.
