Haygain HG 600 Hay Steamer

The Haygain Hay Steamers are the only scientifically proven method for purifying hay. They improve the hygenic quality of the hay to reduce the health threat from respirable dust, mould spores and pathogens to produce highly palatable and nutritious forage. This unit can hold 15kg of forage in a haynet or loose wedges.

Feeding hay that has been steamed also maintains hydration and supports healthy skin and coats.

The Patented Manifold design features a deltoid configuration resulting in the most effective way for injecting high temperature steam evenly throughout the whole bale of hay; the hay is steamed from the inside out! Haygain chests enable the injected steam to reach ultra high temperatures, around 100°c. The aluminium materials used for the manifold help to raise the temperature in the chest, increasing the efficiency of the unit.

How To Use The Haygain HG 600:
1. Load forage into the Hay Steamer Chest and fill the steam generator before turning it on.
2. Allow for 10 mins in the green zone (on the dial) or approximately a 1-hour steam cycle.
3. Feed fresh steamed forage to your horse or store up to 24-hours in a bale bag.
