What were your first impressions?
“I was really excited to try the Catago Fir-Tech Stable Boots, and I can truly say, they did not disappoint.
Firstly, they are stylish to look at and very easy and practical to use, and you can benefit from a whole host of uses from just one set of boots. The special Fir-Tech fabric is engineered with ceramic clay that reflects the body heat of the horse to create infra-red rays. These help to increase blood circulation, delivering higher levels of oxygen around the body and muscles. This technology helps reduce tension, aches and inflammation and can help to speed up recovery from injury. You are in effect, getting all the benefits of infra-red rays, without having to use a solarium before and after exercise.
With this in mind they are so beneficial, not only as stable boots, but also as travel boots, so you are getting the benefits before and after competition.”
How was the sizing & fit?
“As a travel and stable boot, they were a perfect fit, did not move and offered superb protection. I like the fact they have a rubber patch in the fetlock area to help prevent tread injuries whilst in transit.”
What was your favourite feature?
“Now for the extra bonus – You can also get interchangeable cooling inserts to go with them, so they can be used as ice boots too! The inserts have a silver rear which reflects the temperature through the leg efficiently and can be kept in the freezer for long lasting cooling. They come in their own cooler bag to prolong the low temperature, (great if you don’t have a freezer in the lorry), so are ideal to take to events to use after strenuous exercise. Myself and the team particularly liked the fact, we had multiple different benefits and uses from one set of boots.”
How did you test the product?
“On a show day we used the Fir-Tech boots to travel, which offer superb protection together with all the benefits of the Fir-Tech technology. Straight after the horse has jumped, the inserts are changed and the boots now become the perfect ice boots. After this, the Fir-Tech inserts are put back in (very easy, just on a piece of Velcro) and the horse has all the benefits (reducing aches and inflammation and promoting healing) on the journey home.
All this from one pair of boots and not needing to pack lots of different ones for an event, is amazing.”
Any other comments?
“The horses give us everything in the ring and in training, and I feel assured that when using the Catago Fir-Tech boots, we are doing everything possible to help reduce injury and promote quick recovery.
I would highly recommend them to both the serious competition rider or to anyone who wants to take the very best care they can of their horses.”
