About the product

Equilibrium Tri-Zone Open Fronted Tendon and Fetlock Boots in Black – A superb choice for riders of all levels, these boots are crafted with four (for Tendon) or three (for Fetlock) layers to protect from concussion and penetration injuries. They are non-restrictive, breathable and extremely comfortable for your horse to wear. They feature durable touch and close fastenings with elasticated straps for ease of use as well as a breathable lining.

What were your first impressions?

“The first thing I noticed when I received the boots was how light weight they are. They are by far the lightest boots I have had. I especially liked the perforated design which allows for high breathability whilst still offering maximum protection.”

How was the sizing & fit?

“These boots fit true to size. Mojo is a 17h Warmblood and he wears a large in both the Tendon and Fetlock boots. The elastic in the Tendon boots allowed for a very secure fit as although Mojo has long legs, they are quite narrow. The Fetlock boots are fully compliant with British Showjumping rules so have no elastic, but the secure Velcro strap still allowed for a secure fit and they did not move through wear.”

How did you test the product?

“I was lucky to have these boots to try at some shows meaning they were used in the ring and in training sessions. The first time I used the set was for my last training session before heading to Bicton so they were used for an intense session of jumping and I was particularly pleased to see that Mojo’s legs did not get hot at all. The perforated design allowed for excess heat to escape from the leg, but the reinforced backs of the boot covering the tendon allowed for maximum protection to the legs which when training over bigger fences is a very important feature.

I have now also used the boots multiple times competing and was equally pleased with how smart they look. We have been competing up to Foxhunter this season and it is very reassuring to know Mojo’s legs are protected by well-fitting lightweight boots that are fully compliant with all rules especially as we are looking to jump some bigger courses going forward.”

What was your favourite feature?

“My favourite feature must be the breathability. The difference in temperature of Mojo’s legs after wearing these boots compared to my old set is massive. He has no sweat on his legs after wearing these even where the re-enforced tendon strike pad is.”

Any other comments?

“I have been really impressed with these boots. I am hoping to get some of the brushing boots for day to day wear for both of my horses as I am sure I will see as many benefits from those as well!”
