About the product

Kentucky Wellington Leather Trim Fly Veil in Dark Navy – Based on the extremely popular American look, the Kentucky Wellington Leather Trim Fly Veil features an eye-catching artificial leather edging for a stylish touch. A great accessory that protects your horse’s ears from those pesky flies.

What were your first impressions?

“I had been looking for a smart Saddlecloth and Fly Veil for competitions. I loved the fact that this one was navy with the brown leather trim to match my tack. I knew it would look stunning on my chestnut horse, Geoffrey.”

How was the sizing & fit?

“The sizing was good – the length and depth was perfect for my 17.5 monoflap jump saddle. The Kentucky Saddlecloth gives lots of room on the withers, important so that it doesn’t go tight when jumping. This keeps the freedom of movement allowing Geoffry to perform at his best. The fly veil fits perfectly on my 16h TBxWB. It didn’t feel like it was too tight or restricted him from moving his ears and they didn’t slip out from under the bridle, even after being worn for the whole day at our one-day event.”

How did you test the product?

“I used the Saddlecloth and Fly Veil for my Showjumping lessons and Cross-Country clinics we attended. I also had an Eventing competition that I used them both for.

I think the Eventing competition was a good test for both products, to see how they would cope being used for all three phases.  In the Cross-Country he got very sweaty, but neither of the products rubbed him. Also, the Saddlecloth does have the ventilation hole to help to avoid the muscles overheating.

I feel as though both products are hardwearing and will endure everyday use.”

What was your favourite feature?

“My favourite feature on the Saddlecloth is the micro-fibre material with the ventilation holes. They make the Saddlecloth breathable, keeping Geoffrey comfortable when competing and wearing it for long periods of time. With the Fly Veil, I like that it is smart enough to be able to wear it on its own and can be used for dressage competitions. Even after washing both products, they didn’t fade and came up gorgeous every time.”

Any other comments?

“I would highly recommend these two products to people wanting a smart set. I am really impressed with the overall design, and will keep using both of them when I go to competitions as I think they look super smart.”
