About the product: RE-COVERY MASH is highly palatable, versatile and convenient to use in many different situations. It contains a blend of ’Super-Fibres’, known for their superior digestibility and provision of non-heating calories, helping to support optimal fibre intake.
It also includes a source of electrolytes to maintain optimum hydration and thirst response after exertion, training and travelling, as well as during the change of season when temperatures may affect the horse’s water intake. High levels of vitamin E help to support immune and muscle function and the live yeast aids optimal hindgut health.
It is available in a 1.5kg travel pouch or a 20kg bag.
What were your first impressions? “It smells great when I opened the bag and didn’t take long to soak which is really helpful, especially in the hotter weather.’
How was the sizing? “The product comes in a handy 1.5kg travel pouch which is fantastic idea if you aren’t needing to feed constantly and to a lot of horses as this means it keeps well and also handy to take to competition and training camps without having to pack little containers yourself.”
How did you test the product? “I tested the products by feeding to my foals and away at competitions. I have one foal that is extremely fussy and has a sensitive stomach. The Saracen Recovery Mash he tucked straight into and wouldn’t let the others near the bowl until he finished. He even went around to the others to make sure they were all empty! it didn’t upset his stomach and kept him lovely and hydrated in the heat wave temperatures. I also took the pouch away to a competition with me to feed to my mare in between her classes and once she finished. It was great to know she was also hydrated and ready to compete and travel home afterwards. She doesn’t drink when at competitions, so this was a great help as I was able to make it very watery and she loved it!
What was your favourite feature? “I loved that it keept the horses hydrated, especially during the hot periods! I loved that the horses loved it and always wanted more.
