What is a Royal Warrant?
A Royal Warrant of Appointment is a mark of recognition of those who have supplied goods or services to the Households of HM The Queen or HRH The Prince of Wales for at least five years, and who have an ongoing trading arrangement. You can find out more about Royal Warrants here.

Charles Owen

World famous for raising the bar in safety, Charles Owen is a leading British manufacturer of riding helmets, with a history dating back over 110 years. When Charles Owen himself founded the company in 1911, his mission was to make products ‘for a safer world’. The company has remained within the same family for four generations, today under the direction of founder Charles Owen’s great-grandson.

Charles Owen was awarded a Royal Warrant in 1984 as a supplier of Protective Headwear, and has continued to invest in safety research to further Charles’ mission to save lives.

Musto

Born from a unique story, Keith Musto arrived in Tokyo as an unlikely choice for the British Olympic sailing squad of 1964. After taking the sailing world by storm and winning silver in Tokyo, he set about producing ground-breaking technical sailing apparel. Keith quickly realised that the sailing fabric technology could be applied to other sports when he was the only dry spectator watching his daughter ride – he was in his Musto sailing kit. Musto fused performance fabrics with timeless equestrian style, and Musto Equestrian was born.

Lister

In 1909, a time when sheep were still painstakingly shorn by hand blades, R A Lister & Co used their 42 years of experience in the agricultural industry to develop the first electric shearing machine. Lister has grown to become one of the leaders in equine and livestock clipping, with their clippers in use all over the globe.

In 1950, Lister Shearing was awarded a Royal Warrant by HM King George VI, as manufacturers of animal care products. This award has been continually held over the years and is now given by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Snuggy Hoods

Snuggy Hoods was founded over 20 years ago; originally a small ‘attic’ business it grew rapidly through local demand for horse and pony hoods that weren’t then available on the UK market. The original Sweet Itch Hood and Rug were made for a Dartmoor pony who was an extreme sweet itch sufferer. She made a summer weight hood and matching rug to cover him, which worked amazingly, and the Sweet Itch Body was born.

Carr & Day & Martin

It all started in 1765 when Mr Day, a Doncaster hairdresser, met an old soldier who gave Day a recipe for making boot blacking which he had developed to polish the boots of his superior officers. “Make it like this” said Martin the solider “and you’ll make a fortune!” Mr Day had a flair for publicity and splendid black horses were used to draw the Day & Martin carriages. An interest in equestrian products thus ensued and the first equestrian product was made – the Belvoir Bar Soap. It remains the stalwart of tack rooms all over the world to this day.

Carr & Day & Martin was granted their first Royal Warrant in 1820 by George IV, and have retained the warrant through the reign of eight monarchs; an outstanding history and one of the oldest active warrants.

Vale Brothers

Vale Brothers have been manufacturing grooming brushes since 1786, and their Equerry brushes can be found in every grooming kit, from pony-mad children to the top stables in the world. Through the acquisition of favourite brands such as Jeffries, Equerry, and more, Vale Brothers products are a firm favourite with every level of rider.

Horsehage

In the 1970’s, the late Mark Westaway became increasingly concerned with event horses persistently coughing. His veterinary surgeon revealed that the coughing was dust-related and since hay was the major dust source, this problem would continue unless a dust-free forage was specifically designed for the horse. Thus, the idea for HorseHage was born.

HorseHage was awarded the Royal Warrant in 1983 after the Queen’s horse, Burmese, was fed HorseHage when suffering a respiratory problem. The HorseHage farm is located locally to Redpost in South Devon, providing top quality forage for horses of all types, from Shetlands to Thoroughbreds.

Strömsholm

Strömsholm has grown from selling horseshoe studs from the kitchen table, into the UK’s leading specialist both in hoof care and horseshoes. Established in 1972, many of the world’s top racehorses and competition horses are shod with Strömsholm shoes and farriery equipment – ask your farrier what’s in his toolbox!

Dodson & Horrell

The D&H team includes several qualified veterinarians who are passionate about providing top quality nutrition for your horse, including a range of supplements to help with a wide range of challenges.

Allen & Page

Allen & Page was established as a limited company in 1936, but the Page family had been producing and selling horse feeds for many years. Still a family business, Allen & Page has developed and grown over four generations and nearly a century of business to become the national feed producer it is today. In 2009, Allen & Page was delighted to receive a Royal Warrant from HRH The Prince of Wales as a producer of Organic & Non-GM Animal Feeds. Catering for horses, poultry, goats, and more, Allen & Page are looking to the future with a sustainable vision.

Dengie

Founded in 1968 as a farmer’s cooperative, Dengie is still run today with the same ethos of supporting the local farming community. A high proportion of ‘home-grown’ ingredients as possible which keeps the ‘feed miles’ low and provides the best traceability possible – every bag of Dengie horse feed can be traced back to the field it was grown in.
