The Sprenger Novocontact Double Jointed Pelham Bit has been designed to create a unique oval shape which widens the contact surface on the tongue while the rider keeps a steady contact. As the rider gives a rein aid the mouthpiece turns forward and the contact surface gets narrower, ensuring more precise and effective communication.
This bit improve the interaction between horse and rider for a better contact and acceptance of the bit. The double jointed design is ideal to use on horses that occasionally tend to pull against the hand, but are too sensitive to be ridden with stronger bits.
When using a Pelham the rein aid is distributed to three various parts of the horse’s head: the tongue, the poll and the lower jaw. This enables the rider to get more control over strong and powerful horses.
Made from Sensogan, this Sprenger Bit is an alloy of copper, manganese and zinc. Manganese hardens the copper without influencing the natural oxidation process of it. This gives a very positive influence on the horse's satisfaction, motivation and willingness to perform.
