OPTIMAL SAFETY: The Samshield Shadowmatt Riding Hat is a sleek design that offers exceptional levels of protection and comfort, making it great for any rider. This hat features an outer shell engineered from polycarbonate, which is a material used, among other things, for high-end motorcycle helmets. This material is then covered with an anti-scratch mat paint for a smart finish (Shadowmatt), or a high-shine gloss paint (Shadow Glossy).

Designed to provide you with optimal protection in case of a fall, the Samshield Shadowmatt Riding Hat is then equipped with an inner shell made of polystyrene with variable density, which provides better dissipation of the energy produced upon impact, to reduce the risk of injury.

STABILITY: The internal liner, made of a 'shape memory' type of material, ensures a constant thickness throughout use the years of use and the semi-rigid harness helps to keep the hat in place and secure. This internal liner is easily removable and can simply be clipped in and out as required. This allows the wearer to wash the liner after prolonged use, to keep their head feeling fresh and comfortable. It also means that a replacement can be purchased and used whilst washing (it’s good to have a spare!).

A thorough anthropomorphic study led to Samshield designing an inner-shell form generating an unmatched comfort. These Samshield Hats are available in 3 different shell sizes, which can then be paired with various sized liners. This gives the wearer a bespoke and comfortable fit, that can then be adjusted if required. This system is great for younger, growing riders and prolongs the life of the hat.

INCREDIBLE INTERNAL AIRFLOW: Equipped with a front air inlet, the Shadowmatt Hat provides exceptional ventilation. Fresh air is channelled from the front entrance to the back extractors around comfort foam which prevents sweating. This concept generates strong internal airflow avoiding the need for visible and unsightly air inlets: the equestrian elegance is retained without banishing technicality and comfort.

SAFETY STANDARDS: Samshield Shadowmatt and Premium helmets meet CE EN1384:2017 and ASTM/SEI standards. Samshield also works with the CRITT (a French certified laboratory renowned for being the most demanding in the world) to ensure that all it's products respect their standards.
