What does Accidental External Injury Only mean?
‘Accidental External Injury Only’ refers to when the horse has a visible external wound.
What is the maximum amount of vet fees that could be claimed for in one year?
Vets fees up to a maximum of £3,000 per claim and in total per policy period. You could have multiple claims during the policy period but the total amount payable during the policy period is a maximum of £3,000. The excess of £165 would apply for each and every claim.
Does this insurance cover more than one horse?
The insurance is for the one horse named on the policy. You could take out more than one policy for each horse you own or have on full loan.
Is there a maximum age of horse that can be insured?
There is no maximum age limit for the horses under this insurance. The horse must be older than 30 days.
Can I buy this insurance over the phone or is it only available online?

Can you insure a horse without a vetting?
This insurance is for vet fees resulting from an Accidental External Injury Only to your horse. As no cover is provided for illness or disease, we do not require a vetting to provide cover.
Will this insurance cover pre-existing conditions?
No cover is provided for pre-existing conditions. Cover is provided for vets fees from Accidental External Injury Only, which are caused from an accident during the policy period. No cover is provided for vet’s fees incurred more than 12 months from the date the Accidental External Injury was sustained.
How much is Redpost Horse Insurance?
Our Redpost Horse Insurance is £200.55 per year. At under £20 per month, we hope to help make insurance cost-effective for every owner. This includes insurance premium tax at 12% and the Broker fee.
How much is the Excess?
The excess under the Accidental External Injury Vets Fees Only insurance is £165 each and every claim. Separate excesses apply to each additional cover provided.
Does the Public Liability Insurance cover other people riding my horse?
Cover is provided for your use of your horse and any person using your horse with your permission on a recreational basis. No cover is provided for business use.
