MATERIALS FOR OPTIMAL SAFETY
The outer shell of the helmet is made of polycarbonate, which is a material used, among other things, for high-end motorcycle helmets. It is equipped with original Alcantara®.
The inner shell is made of polystyrene with variable density providing a better dissipation of the energy produced upon impact.
STABILITY
The internal comfort foam, “shape memory”-kind, ensures a constant thickness over the years of use and the semi-rigid jugular cancels all risks of tipping the helmet due to violent movement.
This internal comfort foam is removable thanks to a strong clip system. This is much easier and more secure than traditional scratch/Velcro systems. It can therefore be washed at will in order to constantly be able to wear a clean and fragrant helmet. It also means that a replacement can be purchased and used whilst washing (it’s good to have a spare!). When you add a Samshield hat to your basket you will be advised to add a liner of your size. The website will automatically offer a Shadowmatt Liner for the Shadowmatt Hats or a Premium Liner for the Premium Hats. However, both liners fit in all hats. This means that you can choose a Premium Liner for a Shadowmatt hat if you wish and vice versa.
PERFECT SIZE ADJUSTMENT FOR UNMATCHED COMFORT
A thorough anthropomorphic study led to designing an inner-shell form with unmatched comfort. 3 shell sizes are available (S, M, L).
Small Shell: 52cm - 56cm
Medium Shell: 55cm – 58cm
Large Shell: 57cm – 61cm
With this system, it is also possible to follow the growth of a young rider. Due to being able to easily purchase different sized liners there is no need to replace the hat as the riders head grows.
INCREDIBLE INTERNAL AIRFLOW
Equipped with two front air inlets, the Premium helmet provides exceptional ventilation.
Fresh air is channelled from both the front entrance under the blazon as well as the channel obtained by the unique concept of no contact on the rider’s forehead with the use of the Premium Liner.
Fresh air expels the hot air to the back extractors around comfort foam, making sweating a thing of the past! This concept generates strong internal airflow avoiding the need for visible and unsightly air inlets: the equestrian elegance is retained without banishing technicality and comfort.

PLEASE NOTE:This is the ASTM F1163/SEI Safety Standard helmet. We are no longer stocking the EN standard due to rule changes coming in to effect in 2016. This hat is certified under ASTM F1163/SEI standards allowing it to be worn for BS & BD after the rule change in 2016. The main difference in this hat and the previous EN version isthe thickness of wall.
