The Haygain Hay Steamers are the only scientifically proven method for purifying hay. They improve the hygenic quality of the hay to reduce the health threat from respirable dust, mould spores and pathogens to produce highly palatable and nutritious forage. This unit can accommodate a fully strung bale or 35-40kgs of loose forage, making it ideal for owners feeding four or more horses.
Haygain’s patented steaming technology adds moisture to hay, aiding digestion and hydration. The steaming preserves hay’s nutrients, and steamed hay’s proven appetite appeal helps even picky eaters get what they need from their most important food source.
The units have an array of benefits! They are effective in reducing airborne respirable dust in hay by up to 99% and kill the mould, fungal spores, bacteria and yeast that can cause equine asthma and chronic respiratory inflammation. Steaming hay also reduces the odds of having Inflammatory Airway Disease by 65%, and they maintain nutrition and digestibility. Feeding hay that has been steamed also maintains hydration and supports healthy skin and coats.
The Patented Manifold design features a deltoid configuration resulting in the most effective way for injecting high temperature steam evenly throughout the whole bale of hay; the hay is steamed from the inside out! Haygain chests enable the injected steam to reach ultra high temperatures, around 100°c. The aluminium materials used for the manifold help to raise the temperature in the chest, increasing the efficiency of the unit.
How To Use The Haygain HG 2000:
